"Goodbye my Friends"

'Goodby my Friends' Oil on Canvas,40x60cm,2009
describing my feelings at the time, This is my first expressionism work that I did early days of coming to Australia...
In this painting I have crossed the border with a long curious neck seeking for new opportunities to build up my future as an individual and artist. The cold blue color at the bottom of the borderline opposes the warm adventurous at the top of the work, where I am traveling. Those circle and square with simple and familiar shapes and colors represent all familiar things, my friends, my family and eventually the place I was born…yes I was turning back at all of the, you know? it is really hard...

"My Georgian Grandma's Aunt"

'My Grandma's Aunty' Oil on Canvas,60x90cm,2010
About three years ago when my family and I travelled to our old Georgian village, where our old family members still are living in there, I went to visit my Georgian grandma’s aunty who is well known about being kind and gentle. After we reached to her beautiful traditional house and were treated by her warm hospitality I felt like taking some photos of her beautiful face with incredible calm and kind eyes specially while smiling. Eventually in 2010 I found a great desire inside myself to paint her portrait on canvas. For me this portrait has kind of impression that gives me different feelings about my old family and myself.
This painting was a breakthrough for me, because I have always been scared of using thick layers of the paints next to each other for painting a portrait, however in this work you can see that I have used very thick layer of paint with obvious brash strokes in different directions and shapes. It was really interesting for me that how it is possible to create the texture of the old skin not with blending the colours but just by using thick brash strokes in different shapes and directions, which needs really great self-confidence.
The other interesting point about this style is that if you look at it closely you can see all individual colours sitting next to each other, but when you look at it from farther all colours blend together and you can see a general combination of colours which is close to the skin colour.

"Loneliness in a strange Planet"

'Lonliness in a Strange Planet' Oil on Canvas,60x90cm,2010
This painting was so strange to me because in this work I found that how an idea can be based on an artwork! It is so exciting to me because normally an artwork is based on an idea but in this painting I didn’t have a clear idea about what I’m going to do and just had the imagination of that long black figure in my mind but little by little out of sudden I decides to add other things like the pants and sun and those 3 poles and…
However when it was finished I became so surprised and wondered because it was telling me a story about myself that up until then there was not there; So I discovered that an idea and story or maybe stories can be based on an artwork and can be created by the finished artwork. I mean if you listen to the work it says it's own story to you by itself!
The Story: “that’s me with weird features in a weird place and situation far from the earth and the strange kind of sunrise in front of me. I am naked because my old pants and shirt don’t feet me, in fact everything inside and outside of me is new so I need new wear that suit me at this time.
Those three poles are the symbol of my family (my father, my mother and my younger brother) who I really miss them and I am looking back at them to show the connection between them and me.”

"Bird of Passage"

'Bird of Passage' Oil on Canvas,60x80cm,2010
Those days I was working really hard as a cleaner and house painter (which that safety helmet and red working jacket refers to it) to make money for paying my fees (particularly for my education). I sometimes become so exhausted, and also far from many things (far from the earth) sometimes makes me to feel so lonely and feel like to cry, so the situation I am in is like a long, hard and strange journey but full of mysteries (like the mysteries of outer space at the background of me...) and I am like a bird flying through my mysterious journey with the safety wear and my fingers with curious eyes wondering all new things happening to me and around me ...
Anyway, it's just part of my impression about this artwork but everyone can have their own impression and story about it!

"Richman's Dog"

'Richman's Dog' Bronze, 2009
In this work I meant to show the social gapes between different levels of the society that let some rich people to treat some other poor people like a dog just because they have money and power so they can take advantage of this situation and behave poor ones like slaves.
The fat gentleman represent power and money that opposes the skinny dog-man who is hungry and debating whether approach the Reichman for the food or not because even though he is hungry but he knows that he will be treated like a slave...
